Non-government schools in Dhaka Metropolitan City, the divisional cities, the district sadar areas and the upazila sadar areas take part in the same central online system as government schools, so the application is made on gsa.teletalk.com.bd and no school sells its own form. The big change for 2027 is how students are selected. Class 1 will still be decided by a digital lottery, Class 6 to Class 9 are set to move to a written admission test, and the decision for Class 2 to Class 5 is still pending. DSHE has said the circular will come after it collects vacant-seat information from schools in November 2026.

Non-Govt School Admission Circular 2027
The Ministry of Education confirmed on 6 August 2026 that Class 1 admission will remain lottery-based and that the other classes will be filled through admission tests from the 2027 academic year. DSHE then drafted the admission policy for government and non-government schools in September. The latest draft keeps a written test for Class 6 to Class 9, and the ministry is considering a lottery for Class 2 to Class 5 as well. The circular will follow once the ministry approves the policy and the schools report their vacant seats.

Which Non-Government Schools Use the Central System?
Last year the online application and central lottery covered non-government secondary schools and school-and-colleges in Dhaka Metropolitan City, the divisional metropolitan areas, the district sadar upazilas and the other upazila sadars. Well-known Dhaka schools such as Viqarunnisa Noon School and College, Ideal School and College, Motijheel and Rajuk Uttara Model College took applications through gsa.teletalk.com.bd.
Some institutions run their own admission instead. Cantonment schools such as Adamjee Cantonment Public School and Mirpur Cantonment Public School and College, and Dhaka Residential Model College, publish separate circulars on their own websites. Always check the school list on gsa.teletalk.com.bd: if a school appears there, you must apply through the central system.
Non-Govt School Admission Test and Lottery 2027
The same selection rules are planned for government and non-government schools. Class 1 seats are filled by DSHE’s digital lottery. For Class 6 to Class 9, the draft proposes a two-hour written test of 100 marks (Bangla 30, English 30, Mathematics 40), held by the schools, with a merit list prepared from the marks. Non-Govt School Admission Eligibility
Non-government schools follow the same age rule as government schools. Last year a Class 1 applicant had to be at least 5 years old on 1 January 2026 and not older than 7, with a birth date between 31 December 2018 and 1 January 2021. If the rule is unchanged, children born between 31 December 2019 and 1 January 2022 should be eligible for Class 1 in 2027. For Class 2–9, the student must be in the previous class in 2026, and the age must match the class. An attested copy of the online birth registration certificate is required, and children with special needs got up to five years of age relaxation last year.
For students applying to Class 1, the maximum age requirement is 6 years. For subsequent classes, the age requirement increases by one year per class. This straightforward eligibility criterion ensures that all students, regardless of their background, have an equal opportunity to apply for admission to Non-Govt Schools.
Quota in Non-Government Schools
The draft policy for 2027 keeps a total quota of 15% in non-government schools. It is the same six categories used in government schools plus one extra category:

Last year the circular also said there would be no reserved seats for relatives of managing committee members, while children of teachers and staff could be admitted if they met the minimum requirements. Unused quota seats go to general applicants.
Non-Govt School Admission Application Form 2027
The non-government school form is separate from the government school form, so choose the right option on the website. The steps were the same last year:
- Visit gsa.teletalk.com.bd and select the Non-Government School application.
- Fill in the student’s name, date of birth and birth registration number in English, exactly as in the certificate.
- Select division, district and thana, open the school list and pick up to five schools in your order of preference.
- Choose class, shift and version, and tick a quota only if you can prove it.
- Upload a 300 × 300 pixel colour photo in JPG format.
- Submit the form and download the Applicant’s Copy with the User ID.
- Pay the fee from a Teletalk prepaid number with two SMS to 16222.

Seats and Competition in Non-Government Schools
Overall, non-government schools have far more seats than applicants. For the 2026 academic year DSHE said about 73,605 non-government seats would stay empty even after every applicant was placed. The picture is very different at the popular Dhaka schools, where hundreds of applicants compete for each Class 1 seat. That is why it is wise to use all five choices and include at least one school with less demand.
After Selection: Result and Admission in Private Schools
Results are published on gsa.teletalk.com.bd as a merit list and waiting lists, with a separate link for non-government schools. At admission, bring the printed Applicant’s Copy and result, the original birth registration certificate and its online copy, the parents’ original NID cards, recent photos and, for Class 2–9, the transfer certificate and last result. Each non-government school sets its own admission and session fees, so ask for a receipt for every payment.
